For the 1st time since 2017, Ossining is District 33 Champions. In a Saturday morning game at Seaboldt Field in Montrose, Ossining JCYS Little League brought home the District 33 banner with a 13-2 win over Cortlandt National Little League to complete an undefeated run through the District. Ossining went 3-0 and outscored their opponents by a 30-3 margin giving up only 1 earned run and 7 hits in the District Tournament. In the Championship game Ossining continued their offensive onslaught along with their lights out pitching as Nico Carone went 4 for 4 with 4 RBI, Chase Thompson 2 for 4 with 2 RBI at the plate while striking out 8 CNLL batters over 4 innings of 1 run, 1 hit ball on the mound and Fernando Lemus 2 for 3 with 4 stolen bases and 4 runs scored.
Overall in the District Tournament Ossining JCYS Little League had a record run of hitting and pitching! Fernando Lemus hit .778 with 2 triples, 6 stolen bases and 8 runs scored, Noah Thompson .625 with 4 RBI, Nico Carone .600 with 6 RBI. On the mound Chase Thompson was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 6 innings, Noah Thompson 1-0 with 2.33 ERA, Phinn Newman 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Joe Mulligan and Fernando Lemus joined Chase and Phinn to give Ossining Little League an incredible 4 pitchers with 0.00 ERA's in D33 play.
Ossining now advances to Section 3 play which begins on Sunday, July 17th with a 1pm game vs. the District 20 Champions, Elmsford Little League at Pat Henry Field in Kensico.
